Rivals ranking question

Why does Rivals have us still with 17 commtments? They aren't factoring in Williams even though he shows on the list. In other words list has 18 names but our count is stuck on 17. I thought is it it because of juco status but no, they are counting Quinton Dial, so...... if somebody has an answer or explanation it would be appreciated.

Honest Question from outside our Fanbase.

I know this is a Bama board which is precisely why I wanted to post this here. I want an outside opinion on a touchy subject among our (Ole Miss) fanbase. But if this post is not in the spirit of this board, moderators feel free to delete it or move it to a more appropriate board. The following is a post that I posted, and spent quite a good bit of time in writing, on the Ole Miss Spirit(Ole Miss' Scout.com site). I posted it on a premium board but since I am the author I am sure I have the legal right to re-post it(Once again, if not, feel free to delete). I want honest opinions and reasons by somebody that doesnt have on red-&-blue goggles.

I am tired of whining about Jax State. We lost, but we have 11 more games. Time to move on. I will take a good Colonel Reb debate any day over the constant whining about last Saturday.

I have said it to many people, I am neither for nor against Colonel Reb, especially the old sidelines Colonel we had for years. I just don't go to games to watch a mascot. The argument that Colonel Reb was/

Alabama coach Saban fired a pre-emptive strike Wednesday at Alabama fans who booed San Jose State players when they came onto the Bryant-Denny Stadium last week, encouraging them not to boo Penn State or any opposing teams.

"Our football program and our stadium is probably the largest window that anyone looks at in the state of Alabama and maybe the University of Alabama," he said. "And I just don't think there's any place for booing anywhere in college football, and that includes booing the other team. ..."

Penn State "is a class program with class people that have been there for 45 years and done wonderful things for college football, the game of football, and a lot of people over a 45-year period," Saba

Freshman inside linebacker Jalston Fowler, who had quite a career as a running back at Vigor High School in Mobile.

Fowler had to sit out the 2009 high school season because he was too old. He enrolled in January at Alabama, and from the first practice of the spring, he has practiced with the linebackers.

"We also need for another running back to come to the surface besides (Richardson and Ingram), and we have a couple of young ones that will be able to do it," Saban said Saturday after a 48-3 season-opening victory over San Jose State as he talked about Richardson, Eddie Lacy and Demetrius Goode, who combined for 34 of Alabama's 41 rushing attempts.

Freshman Corey Grant might be another candidate to play. He did not participate in the San J

Chris Jordan, a 6-2, 232-pound junior inside linebacker, made one of those hits that drops a ball-carrier in his tracks in Alabama’s 48-3 win over San Jose State Saturday night.

“I felt it, but it was just adrenaline,” Jordan said. “And then the crowd.

“Everybody doing that big ‘Ooooooh.’

“It just sent chills down my back.”

Don’t look for Bama to underrate Penn State.

“They’re going to come out and play hard-nosed football, and we like that,” Jordan said. “We have a standard of excellence, too, of being tough at the point of attack. We’re going to come out and play our type of defense and the offense is going to execute on all cylinders to try to put points on the board.

“Coach told us when we started practicing for Penn State that they’re a hard-nosed type football team and they have a traditional offense. They’re going to come and

“You'd never know he was a freshman, that's for sure. He's got a very good arm, he's very accurate, he has a lot of poise,” UA coach Nick Saban said of Bolden. “They didn't have any game management issues, fumbled snaps, delay of games, the guy hard counts like a veteran and draws the other team off sides. He didn't make really any bad decisions, stood in the pocket, took a couple of licks and completed balls.”

“We have young guys in the secondary, but we meet every day and go through film and our calls and everything,” said linebacker Chris Jordan, who often plays on passing downs. “We got through the film and try to correct what we did, so next game, wh

Ingram likely out for PSU game

Mark Ingram will likely miss Alabama's Week 2 matchup with Penn State as his left knee continues to heal.

Quote
TUSCALOOSA, Ala.(AP) Alabama coach Nick Saban said Wednesday that tailback Mark Ingram is unlikely to play for the top-ranked Crimson Tide against Penn State.
Saban said that last season's Heisman Trophy winner was able to run Tuesday and his left knee is "improving every day," but he probably won't play against the Nittany Lions.
"We'll continue to progress him day-to-day," Saban said. "He hasn't had any swelling or problems. If he can continue to progress - I would say he's probably not going to be ready to play this week. He might be ready by the game, but he won't be able to practice enough.
"After that, maybe we have a chance to get him back if he continues to progress."
The Tide hosts No. 19 Penn State on Saturday night in its first real test of the season.
