Tim Brando,voice of the BCS
« on: November 25, 2011, 07:38:05 PM »
Let me preface this by saying that I've always like Timmy B.,but I think he went overboard with his anti-Alabama bias today.
Tim stated that OK.St. and Arkansas deserve extra consideration in the voting due to the deaths that have occurred for both schools.
First,I find it very unresponsible of anyone with that much media influence to try and sway voter opinion with his own personal opinion about something that is completely unrelated to football. And football,my friends,is the subject at hand.
While these deaths are tragedies in their own right, they have nothing whatsoever to do with football, and for him to suggest such is ludicrous.
Has anyone suggested that Alabama get more love from the voters due to the tornados? Tornados that took many more lives and millions of dollars in damages? NO! That has not been mentioned by Tim,nor will it be.
I think he wishes he had that statement back, but rather than suggest that he was wrong,he lashed out at people that questioned his thinking on the subject. This,in itself, made a big dent in the reputation that he had with me.
Am i wrong in my thinking on this? What say you Bamanation?

Agreed.  Did we ask for sympathy vote because we lost our probable starting left tackle prior to the season?  No, we only want to be judged by what we do on the field.  While these situations are sad, there's absolutely no relationship to the football team.

I used to really like TB, but as of a few of his comments this year, he is slowly slipping out of my circle of trust.
Son....Cheer for Ole Miss and Anybody who plays LSU

Isn't Timmy B based somewhere in Louisiana?  Maybe he's just trying to please the natives.  :chicken:

Thats unbelievable that he would stoop to that level and throw in the deaths of those 2 boys.. That had nothing what so ever to do with football. Lashing out at those who questioned his comments? Some ppl just do NOT use their god given brain..

I've lost a lot of respect for Brando.  He has made statements in the past that I didn't appreciate and now he is treading on very shakey ground.
If I remember correctly, he has gator ties and never has been overly kind to Bama anyway.

I don't mind watching Timmy on television, but I can't abide his radio program. I was excited when he first came on, thinking it would be something great. I must say I have been very disappointed. It's more of a clown show, something you might have done in the basement with friends when you were 18 to amuse yourselves. I agree with Jim, and if he isn't man enough to admit he said something wrong, then he has dropped even lower on my esteem scale.

Yes- I am pretty sure he lives in Shreveport or B-Rouge.
But I know he lives in Louisiana

And he has a daughter that goes to Ole Miss-
(In the for what its worth category)

I think he and Finebaum had a "Lovers Spat" back a few months ago
and he's had a Woody for Alabama - ever since.

At least thats my take.

And I tried to listen to his show back a month or so ago
and needed a beer after about 30 minutes.

So I changed the channel
and listened to some 'reporter"
tell me what a great job
Dear Leader Obama was doing
at creating Jobs.

Then I turned everything off and drank that beer.

Is it Tuesday?

So you're saying that his show is on the same level as Squirrels Tonight?
