TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - Nick Saban keeps on winning.

Alabama's sixth-year coach was named this year's recipient of the Bobby Bowden National Collegiate Coach of the Year Award on Tuesday present by the Over the Mountain Touchdown Club.

Saban was honored for leading Alabama to its 14th national title with a 21-0 win over LSU on Jan. 9 in the BCS National Championship Game in New Orleans. The game underscored a 12-1 season, including the Crimson Tide's second national championship in three seasons under Saban.

An awards banquet will be held March 4 at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center in Birmingham for the trophy presentation by Bobby Bowden, the former Florida State head coach.

Saban was selected in a vote of The National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
Other finalists were LSU coach Les Miles, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy and Houston coach Kevin Sumlin.

Saban is the first two-time winner of the award, which was first award after the 2009 season. He received the inaugural award after Alabama finished 14-0 for the Tide's 13th national title.

Last year, Auburn coach Gene Chizik won the award following Auburn's national championship in 2010 capping a 14-0 season.

Saban has led Alabama to four consecutive 10-win seasons with an overall record of 50-12 at Alabama. His career record is 141-54-1, and he has three national championships as a head coach including the 2003 national title at LSU.

Saban is the only coach to win three BCS National Championships.
