Can Alabama be trusted? (Josh Bean)
« on: February 09, 2012, 09:06:16 AM »

Don't you just wish
That some of these
"so-called writers"
would get a dose of
their own medicine.

For example- what if a writer for the Mobile mess register
were to write an article entiled:

"Is (So & So) still flirting with Homosexuallity?
or how about:
Does (So&So) still beat their wife?
or try this:
Is (So&So) Still a Democrat ?
(That last one -may be over the top)

And let them have to defend it.

People that do Hatchet Jobs
(and call themselves "writers")
are kinda like Monica Luensky.

Their only in it for the Publicity
and they usually got a Blue Dress
hanging in the closet.

Josh Bean, that is an appropriate name for his kind of sports writing. The formula is simple: pick a cockamamie idea and start the column. Telephone a number of experts who will tell you politely you are full of BS. Include their comments but bury them in the middle of your article. Push merrily on to the end where you repeat the same walleyed thesis. After all, the average reader will only remember the lead and conclusion of a column. :o

The problem began years ago when sports writers yearned to be something more than simple purveyors of game coverage. They wanted to really matter, like the political reporters winning international fame with tales of Watergate. So between tackles and touchdowns they began lathering their writings with sociology and politics, using techniques proved effective by their political cousins in Washington.

Result is we get more crapola like this -- plus in-fighting among the SEC and NCAA -- than we get blocks and tackles on the field. Enjoy,.

Looks like someone made him change the headline to the article.  If I were coach Saban, no sports hack from the Press Register would ever get another interview or another phone call answered until a formal apology was offered. This is totally irresponsible.  You can't call this journalism.  It's just a blatant attack on CNS.

It is not the fault of Al.Com.  Throw the dart, and stop throwing your money at the Mobile Press Register.  He writes for that rag.  And you can vote with letters and your money to stop this type of journalism.  I have since read another article about this recruit that I wish I would have posted.  In it, it states that Philon had incurred a serious knee injury, and that he had not had the procedure necessary to determine the degree of injury.  Alabama was being asked to buy an unknown entity concerning his injury.  This is an injury that should have been scoped months ago.  Blame Saban if you must, but he made a wise decision for his institution in my eyes.

Surely AL.com has editors, or people that review content.
That is why I said SHAME ON AL.COM!!!  (The press-register too!!!)
The title change should have come before it was posted.
As a matter of fact, the entire irresponsible article should have been canned!!!

Philon not only has physical problems that have yet to be checked out, he is questionable academically.

I saw this headline today and couldn't muster the strength to read the article expecting some jealous nonsense.  I blame this type problem on recent limitations and fact boy appears to have some undisclosed injuries that warrant greyshirt or redshirt.
