How would you like to close the Bama 2012 Recruiting Class?
« on: January 23, 2012, 01:20:37 PM »
This class is on the verge to be one of the best classes in Alabama history. Let's talk about the numbers. Apparently Bama used only 22 schollies last year. Fortunately, this is the last year you can back count schollies. It has been noted that Casey Gladney has a high chance of not qualifying. Justin Taylor will be an interesting watch. Bama wants to Gray Shirt him. He dont wants to gray shirt. From reading the articles in the AJC, I hope hefinds somewhere he can play immediately. I dont see making a contribution at Bama within 3 years. Coming off a significant injury is going to hamper his progress. Assuming those guys dont make it to Bama, we have two possbly 3 spots left. I am going to rank my Top 5 Most Wanted. 1 is mosted wanted. 5 is the least.

1) Jameis Winston 5-star QB out of Hueytown, AL  (He is the future. He has the ability to be a great SEC QB. Reading other boards, some still have doubt in his abilities. I think he has a chance to be Bama's first QB to win the Heisman  if he stays home.)
2) Eddie Goldman 5-star DT out of Washington DC ( He is a Dareus clone. Not sure where he stands. FSU, Auburn, Bama, and Miami are his finalists. Many talking heads think he is Bama bound.)
3) Korren Kirven 4-star DT from Lynchburg, VA ( Solid pass rusher. Wants to leave the state. Not sure mom will let him. He is the back up plan if we dont get Goldman.
4)Kwon Alexander OLB from Oxford, AL ( his season was cut short from a knee injury. Stock has dropped as a result of it. I am thinking he may end up at Bama as a consolation prize.
5) This is really just a bonus. Not sure what will come up as of it. Cyrus Miles is the #2 dual threat QB in the country out of Denver, CO. If you saw him in the US Army game, he is a beast. Jamies Winston and Cyrus Miles looked like the best two QB's in the entire country if you evaluate them for one game against the best talent in highschool. Coach Nuss recruited Miles to Washington. It appears he wants to follow Nuss to Bama. Code of recruiting ethics may prevent this from happening. Just keep your ears low to the ground. If Jameis stay with FSU, Cyrus Miles may end up at Bama. Guess what, he don't play baseball. He would be ALL-IN. Let me know know what is your Top 5.

I gotta say, I have been doing a little research on the Cyler Miles kid.. I think he would be a really good one to have.

If I got to pick
my #1 would be Goldman
#2 Kirvan

We GOT TO HAVE a pass rush next year!
did you happen to notice what Clowney (SCarolina)
was accomplishing by the end of the year.
He was in the backfield- before the QB was set !

as for jamis- he's a  is a good one
but he looks a little small to me.
I'd rather get 1 next year
and swing for a Great one.

especially considering
we got Alec Morris >(6-4 235Lbs)<
Did I metion he was 6-4 235 lbs
as a QB.

add the fact that AJ will just be a Jr.

Thanks Grip this is what has been giving me a headache.  Here is my top 5 in order:

1) Eddie Goldman 5-star DT out of Washington DC
2) Korren Kirven 4-star DT from Lynchburg, VA
3)Tracey Howard  5-star DB from Miramar, FL
4) Jameis Winston 5-star QB out of Hueytown, AL
5)Kwon Alexander 4-star OLB from Oxford, AL

I have Goldman and Kirven ranked 1 & 2 is  due to I'm old school from the stand point of get good lineman first.  The way CNS likes to pressure the opposing offense, it is paramount to start with the line and complement with good lock down cover corners (hence my chioce for Howard at #3).  I would love to pickup/flip Winston but with $$$ from MLB on the table, its somewhat of a gamble and that's why he's my #4.  Kwon is a mystery due to his injury.  It will be a wait and see issue.  Also it would be nice to get both Winston and Alexander just to say that CNS still has a lock on the state of Alabama.  Roll Tide  8)

I would still like to get Dorial Green-Beckham that would close the year.

It's already so much talent in this class period but yea that would pretty much close the year.

Roll Tide.

Since, we may have 2 or three, I'll list my top 3.
1. Beckham-Green, WR
2. Alexander, OLB
3. Winston, QB

4 and 5 would be Goldman and an OL, TE, or DE.

I really think we are on the outside looking in on the DBG sweepstakes. I believe Arkansas or  Missouri will end up with this kid. Goldman should be a batle between Bama and FSU. Kwon was offered a grey shirt from Bama. LSU offered him a full ride. He is choosing between his heart at Bama and setting out a year to his pride and still riding the bench with a uniform. I hear he hasa long way to go to recoverying 100%. Jameis is a wild card. Personally, I want him cause he is a Bama Boy. If he is not coming to Bama, I hope he let the coaches know so we can get Cyrus Miles. I wish we had anotherbig time Cb in this class. If we land one of the 5 stars, we should lck the #1 class up across all recuiting services.

From what I saw today, we may notget anyone from my top 5...lol. Goldman is a FSU lean. Kirven is leaning towards Tennessee. Alabama wont give Cyler Miles an offer cause of recruiting ethics. Kwon may pick LSU because he wont have to grey shirt. Jameis is saying he is feeling good about FSU.

Looks like Dalvin Tomlinson and Kwon Alexander for NSD! Jameis Winston wants to the leave the state. Eddie Goldman headed to FSU. I really wish we could have swayed Cyler Miles now.

Yeah, looks like Tomlinson is going to be joining us. I am not sure about Kwon.. I have heard he will, then I have also heard that he still only has a greyshirt offer. So who knows.
