Mack Brown: Will Muschamp must wait

Quote
“Will makes $900,000, plus bonuses and has no buyout,” Brown said, indicating Muschamp has a pretty good gig. “If he stays, he takes my job (when Brown steps down).”

But until then, “I would be in total control. We would keep this rolling.”

Brown said he warned his staff, “If anyone starts talking about what’s next, I’m going to fire you. That’s not fair to me, that’s not fair to the rest of the staff.”

Brown said he hasn’t set a timetable for his departure, and “Will’s fine with that.”

When LSU get's rid of Less Miles they will come for Will , the money will be to good to turn down.

Mack Brown needs to realize that it is only good because he is in the Big 12 conference. He has only two Big 12 Championships on his resume. It will be interesting to see how long Will Muschamp will stay waiting on Mack Brown. If you ask whats next, I will fire you comment is laughable.....

Now I agree. I never seen nothing like if you start asking. These are grown men and they can't ask questions, that is foolish. Good luck lasting Mack. RTR!

JMHO I said it in another post LSU fans and Alum want to be back on top when they
fire Less  Miles after this year LSU kicks out the money and hires Will Muschamp.
And this only helped matters money will be be good and Will wants to be a head coach.

Mack Brown knows exactly what he is doing, and it is not too far off from what CNS does when he doesn’t allow his coaches to speak to the media.

I'm not real familiar with Muschamp.  Does he have Texas ties?

William Larry Muschamp

Quote
LSU

In 2001 Muschamp joined Nick Saban's staff at LSU as linebackers coach before rising to defensive coordinator in 2002. In the 2003 season, LSU won the BCS Championship with Muschamp's defense leading the nation in both scoring defense (11.0 ppg) and total defense (252.0 ypg). The team topped the SEC in every major defensive category and also ranked second nationally in pass efficiency defense (89.8 rating) and third in rushing defense (67.0 ypg).[7] While at LSU, Muschamp coached four All-Americans including Bradie James, Chad Lavalais, Corey Webster and Marcus Spears. Florida State Seminoles offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher believes Muschamp deserves much more credit for the LSU defensive performance than he has been given.[11] Fisher coached at LSU at the same time as Muschamp and the two remain close friends. Muschamp left LSU after the 2004 season with Saban to join the Miami Dolphins staff as the Assistant Head Coach in Charge of Defense.

Miami Dolphins

As assistant head coach for defense of the Miami Dolphins, Muschamp had his defensive units ranked 15th in total defense in the NFL. The Dolphins allowed 19.8 points and 317.4 total yards per game during the 2005 NFL season, and also ranked 2nd in quarterback sacks with 49.

Auburn

When the Auburn defensive coordinator position became available in January 2006, Muschamp took the opportunity to return to the college game. In 2006, Muschamp's first season at Auburn, the defense finished 7th among NCAA Division I-FBS teams in scoring defense, allowing only 21 touchdowns.[12] In 2007, Auburn led the SEC in scoring defense and finished in the top 10 in four defensive categories (ranking 7th nationally in pass efficiency[13] and 6th nationally in total defense[14], passing defense[15] and scoring defense[16] among NCAA Division I-FBS teams).

So he doesn't really have any ties to Texas?  I mean, he's not from there, and isn't an alum... I think if a high-caliber SEC job became available, and the price was right, he might take it.  So just say potentially Florida, South Carolina, hopefully not Alabama, or maybe even Arkansas or Ole Miss.

Im with RR, I see a Muschamp to LSU a likely scenario, LSU alums want except another half butt season they are coming after heads this year, I believe Muschamp or perhaps even come knocking after our Kirby Smart...or maybe Boise St's coach..you never know, but I agree with RR LSU is laying down the hammer this year if they dont at least get to or win the SEC championship, they want take it another year.

I think he's going to be one really good head coach wherever he ends up.

Mack Brown

I watched him in an interview last week- and he seems
like the nicest most level headed guy in the world.
And maybe thats a problem.
Like Mark Richt- I know he's a good coach
but at this time in history- is that enough?
Look at Saban and Look at Meyer.
Do you have to eat nails and grits for breakfast
and sell your kids on EBay
to have the killer instinct?
Look at their records and the answer will come to you.
All that to say that Muschamp
WILL NOT WAIT TOO MUCH LONGER.

He's like a Vulture sittin on a fence- sayin:
"Patience Hell- I'm gonna Kill something"!

And the right deal comes along-
and he's gone- before he can clean  out his desk.

And Mack Brown- will become Joe Peterno II.
This is starting- to have that look to it.

This about as truthful as you can get. As long as Texas will pay him big money he won't go nowhere. RTR!
