Who was your Favorite.

I pick Washington.

With ALL the odds in the World

against him.

He held us together.

THATS   LEADERSHIP !

Yuuuuuppppp!  Reagan is my favorite as well during my lifetime, and FDR my all time favorite.  He brought this country together during its toughest times, and kicked *** in WWII.

You didn't give a lot of criteria for what makes them our favorite.  Clinton liked a little play on the side, who doesn't agree with that!?!

JFK and Lincoln stood for something that changed our country - I can appreciate that.

RTR
You mentioned "Criteria" re: my favorite.

What I am about to say- is gonna sound corny (SHOCK)

But I Truely Feel this way.

America- started out as an "Experiment"

But It started out with Strong Willed People

wanting a Better life - Than the one they left.

With Rare Exception (Washington being one)

Presidents (At least in my humble opinion)

are Nothing more & Nothing less

than Leed Dogs- Pulling a sled

with FREEDOM  (And what were founded on- being the sled)

Presidents have a lot of "power"

But that power- is for nothing

if (AS  President) you miss the whole point

of what our founding fathers had in mind.

And that is- to set a Framework (Organization if you prefer)

so that all the states (United- But Still Unique )

were Greater than the sum of our parts.

A Strong National Military-  Connected Roads etc.

But more than that I see a President as a CheerLeader

urging the American people to be all they are capapble of.

And to shape a vison for all to aspire to- That is Greater than the present.

And thats why I chose Washington.  He not only did all those concepts.

But put his life and fortune on the line- (As a soldier) to make it come about.

If YOU can't be a GOOD Example for the American people

in ALL you do and say. (Or at least your best effort)

You have No business being President.

Call me Old fashioned - But Thats what I Expect

when I look at the occupunt- of the White House.

And that ain't gonna change- In my Lifetime.

I'd have to say the best times in my life when I felt our country was at its strongest was the Reagan era, probably the worst times for me was the Clinton era thats when all the manufacturing jobs went overseas including mine(aka nafta), not blaming the whole Nafta thing on Clinton but he gets some of the blame for signing it into law, he didnt have to. Now what I want to say for the future is, I hope I havent seen the greatest president in my lifetime, I hope and pray that president is yet to take office, I am pretty sure it WILL NOT BE in this next election
