Shortly after winning yet another College Football Playoff National Championship trophy, Five Alabama juniors declared for the 2018 NFL draft. They include, Minkah Fitzpatrick, a 6 foot 1 Defensive Back, Ronnie Harrison, a 6 foot 3 Defensive Back, Bo Scarborough, a 6 foot 2 Running Back, Da’Ron Payne, a 6 foot 2 Defensive Lineman and Calvin Ridley, 6 foot 1 Wide Receiver. Minkah Fitzpatrick: A lot of pundits project the 3 year Bama starter to go as high as the top 5 pick, it’s not hard to see why, he has that versatility that NFL GM and Coaches love. Doesn't need to really impress in drills of the combine, needs just to do his thing and have solid interviews with teams. Da’Ron Payne: A highly touted Defensive Tackle, Payne has been a key contributor since his very first game. Early projections have him going in the late 1st round. Calvin Ridley: NFL GM’s love him mainly due to his ability to make big plays and he has the potential to record 1000+ yards during his rookie year in the NFL. Ridley has also been a solid blocker, continuously sacrificing his body for the run game. NFL GM's love this trait. Ronnie Harrison: Many pundits consider him to be one of the best defenders in the draft due to the stellar outing he had in the 2017 season leading Bama’ in total tackles (74). Would benefit from a solid, all-around combine. Bo Scarborough: In his three years at Alabama, Scarborough rushed for 1,512 yards and 20 TDs with 596 of those yards and 8 of those TDs coming during the 2017 season. There are questions about his durability and attitude, but if he can show out at the Combine, he will get drafted. In terms of the the seniors worth mentioning in this draft include: Tony Brown, 6 foot, 198 LBS, Defensive Back Hootie Jones, 6 foot 2, 215 LBS, Defensive Back Da’shawn Hand, 6 foot 4, 288 LBS, Defensive Lineman Cam Sims, 6 foot 5, 214 LBS, Wide Receiver Shaun Dion Hamilton, 6 foot, 235 LBS, Linebacker Rashan Evans, 6 foot 3, 234 LBS, Linebacker Levi Wallace, 6 foot, 183 LBS, Defensive Back J.C Hassenauer, 6 foot 2, 295 LBS, Offensive Lineman Joshua Frazier, 6 foot 4, 315 LBS, Defensive Lineman Most of the seniors listed above will be taken in the draft coming up in April 2018; those who don’t get chosen have a high chance of at least making a team’s roster for a tryout.
